Why Deadlines Are A Necessary Evil

Without deadlines, I would never finish anything. I think most writers can relate to what I’m saying. Most readers, too. :)

I tend to work, and rework, and polish forever. I just know there is a better word, a better phrase, if only I keep polishing and revising. LOL.

I’ve tried open-ended deadlines I create myself–but they are really no deadline at all, so I am grateful when someone gives me a set date for completion.

I don’t necessarily work better under pressure, but at least I am forced to stop my internal and infernal nitpicking! LOL.

How about you? Do you like deadlines? Hate them? Or maybe, like me, you know that without them, nothing would ever be finished?

I’ve lived with deadlines for a long time now, and I’m like you. I have to have them, or I’d procrastinate.
