Holiday Foodie Blues

Not that I’m braggin’ or anything, but I’ve lost 23 pounds in three weeks. I changed nothing much. Well, a little. I am less active, still recuperating for my lovely hernia surgery.

I expect to lose even more since I started the low-iodine diet today. I stay on this for three weeks to prep for my test in Jan/Feb.

No dairy, no bread or cereal, no iodized salt and very little plain salt, also no starchy veggies–so bye, bye potatoes. Last time I had to do the diet I lost 22 lbs.

Lest you worry, I have plenty of padding, so my redheaded self won’t be skeletal. :P

Of course, it sucks that it has to be during the holidays. Ugh. No wonder I’ve got the foodie blues!

Wish me luck. LOL.

Try again. The holidays are the worst time to be on a diet. My sympathies.

Glad to hear you’re recovering from your surgery. That diet must be hard. I don’t use salt at all, so that wouldn’t be a problem. But NO BREAD. That would be the end of me.

    Good luck with the holidays!

    Thanks, Lu.
Just my usual rotten timing.

But what I am truly craving is, of all things, barbecue. OMG! It’s so unfair. I was sitting up in bed and watching TV the other day and saw the Food Network and the show was all about Barbecue and I almost lost it, I was drooling on the TV screen. LOL

Hi NJ! Yep. I so agree. I have a thing for Panera bread and try to get by there at least once a month for fresh homemade bread. Their blueberry bagels are killer. And the Asiago cheese bread–perfection!
