Pulled Threads

deadline1.jpgWhy can’t I stay on the same book for more than a week?

I have another 20 pages to write on my current project to meet my deadline, but from outta nowhere this stalled project looms behind me and taps me on the shoulder. The characters seem fresher, the plot more alive, and before I realize what I’m doing, I’ve closed the window on my current wip and opened the older, but evermore intriguing story I set aside six months ago.

Am I mental? Must be. I do this everytime. I’d like to blame my pure Aquarian nature, but that’s too simple.

I can only hope I’m not the only writer who does this…because there is safety in numbers. lol

Now if only I can think of a name for my peculiar brand of insanity. :P

Are we NOT supposed to do that? :bag:

Oops. Ha ha. I’m guilty as charged, Cass. I’m constantly jumping from WIP to WIP as the mood or muse strikes. It’s quite terrible. It also makes it hard to get things done and finished, but I can’t help it. One usually just calls to me so much stronger.

I’ve been doing that a lot lately too. It’s like I just can’t gather the oompah to stick with one project to the end.
