Rain and Ants and Dreams

200236712-001

I am tired of this almost constant rain. For one thing, when it rains here, it seems like thunder and lighting also have to be present…which makes using a computer dicey. Oh, I have a surge protector, but when the big, bad storm of ’06 slapped us silly, my computer got fried and it wasn’t even on at the time.

So now, I unplug the darn thing as well and cross my fingers. The problem is two fold. When the computer is off or unplugged, I’m not finishing my wips or my edits. And the more days it rains, the less I get done.

This is compounded by the current ant influx. OMG! Woke up this a.m., drowsy-eyed to boil some water for a pot of tea and walked into a sea of ants in my kitchen!

These tiny little interlopers aren’t fun. As I watched the swarm flow over my kitchen counters and over my dishwasher, I debated waking up the Bear, but given his nickname, figured I’d get the grizzly version rather than the sweet Teddybear I love.

So, eco-bug spray in hand, I sprayed my counters, under my sink, the walls of my kitchen and also did a little tap dancing on my tiled floor. Ugh. This was not how I intented to start my day.

When the hubby did finally wake, he laughed at my description. Grrr. It was! It was a sea, a black wave of ants! Hmm, if only I could give him some ants in the pants, I bet it wouldn’t be so funny! LOL.

My fellow moonmaid and bff Cora told me about her dream of lollipops, so I thought to share a recent dream I had.

In the dream, I was swimming in a tide pool, then in a river. Something caught on my foot and I went under, starting to drown. Eek! Not good. So in the dream, I thought I had to do something to stop it, and my solution was as surreal.

I transmogrified, I morphed. I shifted. Well, being a writer of paranormal fare, that sounds reasonable enough.

What did I shift into? A manatee, my totem animal. I could feel myself elongate, feel the pull of my flesh. I was still a mammal, still breathed air, but now I could hold it longer, was built for the water. I swam with the currents, I lived.

Sure, I had whiskers and gray skin, but as far as manatees go, I was one hot mama, ya’ll. LOL.

Not entirely sure what it all meant, but then the best dreams usually don’t make a lot of sense in the here and now.

My weirdest dream lately involved snakes. They kept crawling up my legs. At first, it was harmless black snakes; then it was poisonous snakes. But the weirdest part is that I wasn’t scared. I just kept flicking them off with a big stick.

I think it means that even when things turn bad, you won’t let it get to you, as this is just a phase you’re going through and there is nothign to be truly afraid of, you carry a very big stick, your faith and your determination with see you through. ((hugs))

I don’t like dreams! Oh Lucinda, what a horrible dream, but you handled it. It shows your strength!

Cass, what a strange dream and you morphed and survived it. Temptations of the sea. I wonder if you will have it again and see what it brings.

I’ve been dreaming of dead relatives again.

    Hugs & Love,
