Where is Your Tat?

September 5th, 2008

The other day, my sister, my mum, and a good friend of mine were talking about going out and getting tattoos. That’s right, my 80+ year old mother. They are trying to talk me into it, since I am also a tat virgin. Hey, needles are soo not my thing, ya’ll. LOL

Anyway, the conversation switches to where they’d want the tat if they got one, and what artwork they’d want. After an hour or more of thoughtful discussion, my sister admits she was just teasing, but now mum has that scary glimmer in her eyes that foretells trouble.

I just know that I’ll get talked into taking her to a tat parlor now. OMG. Hubby has said more than once that if I get one, he won’t be pleased. That in itself is usually reason enough to rouse the rebel in me and go do whatever he tells me I shouldn’t do. LOL

I know some locations are more painful than others, and some places on the body are more difficult to get to, so I wondered, if you have a tat, where is yours located and what did you decide on getting?

I dunno, but I kind of like the little seahorse, what do you think? :)

Sneak Peek At My New Cover!

Check it out, ya’ll! My new cover for Shifting Tides: Song of The Sea!

Isn’t she beautiful?

When a mafia don’s bride-to-be goes missing, Peter Varien is hired to find her.

Varien, an ex-cop turned private eye, takes the job despite the warning bells going off in his head.

He manages to track her down to a nightclub in Memphis,
belting out jazzy torch songs with the boys in the band.

She is every man’s wet dream, every man’s desire, with a body born of sin and a voice that enthralls men, putting them under a sexual spell.

But it’s a spell he’s determined not to fall under.

Vivilyn Ondine is having the time of her life, given the power over human men through the control she wields as a sea siren. She’s never fallen in love, never truly surrendered–until now.

Peter and Vivilyn are in a race against time, and must join forces to defeat a dangerous enemy who will stop at nothing, even murder.

And here is the picture I used as inspiration for Peter, the hero from my book…

Seducing Him

August 19th, 2008

guide_seduction.jpg

I admit it. I adore men. I love the way they move, the mannerisms, inflections in their voice, the way they smell after a shower (or during… :D) and the warmth coming off their skin, the tight cord of muscle when they flex..ahhh…

Such a feast for the senses. But then, most men feel the same way about women. For a skilled player in the art of love, seducing him should be simple. But have you ever seduced, really seduced a man? It can be the most erotic and provocative thing you’ll ever do in life. Certainly something every woman should try at least once or twice.

It can begin with a look. The slightest glance from under your lashes. Or a single touch, a brush of your fingertips down his arm. Or, those more bold, a sensuous whisper in his ear, a teasing caress of your lips against his earlobe, as you say all the naughty, erotic things you’d like to do to him and with him.

Have you seduced, really seduced a man? What was his reaction? And what naughty thing did you say or do to pull him under your spell?

Leave a comment and you could win a nifty prize package: a vial of Betwitching perfume oil, magic faery wand love pen (for writing love notes or love spells), and a lavender lust sachet.

Winner will be drawn at random and announced this Friday, here on my blog.

Latest News: ST2 and My Halloween Freebie!

August 18th, 2008

Shifting Tides: Book Two Coming Soon!

I am happy to announce that the second book in my Shifting Tides trilogy will be released September 14! Entitled, Song of the Sea, the story is about a sea siren who prefers singing in nightclubs instead of rocky shores, and the single life over marriage to a mob boss. If you read the first book in the trilogy, then you’ll be happy to know several characters from Beneath A Midnight Sea return for cameo appearances. :)

No cover as of now, but once I have it I’ll post here and at the MMC along with the official blurb. ;)

My Halloween Free Read

After much decision making, I’ve decided on a theme for my upcoming Halloween freebie. The theme will be ghosts, or should I say ghost.  :P  I have the plot outlined and have the first chapter already done! Woot! The freebie will release in October and be available for free download at the Midnight Moon Cafe’s website.

Gosh, I feel so productive. lol

Deep Fried Pennis On A Stick?

August 16th, 2008

The other day I took my mum shopping at the store of a family friend. Now, my mum loves to talk even more than I do. :grins: She loves to go up to complete strangers and tell them all sorts of things. And since I never know what will pop outta her mouth, I find myself often playing damage control.

There were few if any customers when mum began her story, but mid-way into it I noticed more than couple of people hovering and listening.

What was the story about? Read on…

You see, the Kentucky State Fair just got underway, and due to mum’s lingering health issues, she can no longer go to the fair. For a person who never met a true stranger and loves to talk about anything and everything, this is a severe blow.

So when she saw a news story on the telly (t.v. for those of us who are American) she had to relay the story in all it’s glory the next day.

According to mum, there is a new food vendor at the fair this year and they are selling deep fried pennis on a stick. I ask her what the heck pennis is? She replied that they said it was pennis.

Pennis, pronounced penn-is, mind you.

I ask her to pronounce it again. She does, this time rather dramatically. “PENNIS, dear. It is some foreign delicacy I’d imagine.”

“What is it made from, did they say?” Our friend asks.

“Lamb. Lamb pennis deep fried on a stick.”

OMG! Light dawns and I choke out, “You mean to tell me they are actually serving deep fried penis on a stick? OMG!”

The man behind us winces and the women all chuckle.

Later, I find out that the Ky State fair is not serving deep fried lamb penis on a stick, but instead, there was a commercial about the KY State Fair and then a few seconds later they were showing some special interest segment about the Olympics and dining out in Beijing, and apparently she got a little confused since the two ran close together. Whew! That is a relief. I’d hate to go to the Ky State Fair and see the poor lambs  in the show ring and think the winner is deep fried dinner on a stick!

So, the moral of the story is, should someone offer you deep fried pennis on a stick–just say you prefer the fresh, raw, and still attached, human version. Yikes!

Time For a Make-Over

August 13th, 2008

I feel in need of a small make-over and hope in the next couple of weeks to re-do my website or at least my blog. If you’ve recently redone your blog or website, leave a comment and send me a link. I’m eager to see what cool and nifty ideas everyone has. Maybe something will spark an idea for me. Hey, it can happen. LOL.

I Finished My Revisions!

August 10th, 2008

It feels sooo good!

I love it when I finish revisions and edits on a book. I think I’ll take a few days off to savor the experience before I attack my next story and start the process of checking for plot holes and slicing off dangling participles. LOL.

As it stands, I have three stories currently in the works, all at varying stages of completion. Readers will be happy to note that one of those stories is destined for the MMC as a Halloween freebie download. :D

I cannot wait to see what the incomparable Silma creates for my cover. I loved the cover she did for my freebie ebook Shimmer. What? You never read it? Shame on you! LOL. Well, it’s free, so you can put away your credit card. Go to: http://midnightmooncafe.bravehost.com/cassshimmer.html

and check it out. Oh, and just so you know, it’s a tie-in story for my Shifting Tides Trilogy. :)

Hope your weekend was as productive as mine!
