I am so sick of snow and ice and cold weather. I am ready for spring. In fact, I’d rather have hay fever sniffles than freezing cold patooties.

In preparation for spring, I am doing my spring cleaning now and paring down everything I own, which is considerable. I hate to say it, but I am a pack rat. I have three piles in my office. The first pile is maybe I will need this and wish I hadn’t thrown it away, or JustincaseIregretit for short. The second pile is OhMiGawd I actually bought this in the 80’s and I may one day fit into it again, or OMG80’sflashback. The last pile is shit so strange no one will buy it unless I have a twin out there, so Goodwill can have it, or Strangeshitforgoodwill.

That last category is a tough one, because I know if I have a yard sale, people will ask me what the fuck it is and half the time even I don’t know. It was an impulse buy. And sadly, if offered a dime for it, I will pay myself a quarter to keep it. lol.

Like the funky clay window charm I bought at an art show. Cost me $22 and I remember getting it because it matched my color mood that day. I think I was plaid. Anyway, try getting anyone to pay $1 for a clay ashtray-looking charm with cracked beads and twisted neon orange pipecleaner. Oh yeah, that’ll happen. Or the keychain with a picture of me throwing up at King’s Island after going on a ride. Ooh, I bet that’ll bring lots of money…lol.

I have so many pairs of scissors, I mean how many things will I need to cut that I need 10 pairs of scissors? I have four that are left-handed, so I could cut things both ways at the same time. Dueling scissors, en garde.

But the oddest thing is the pink stuffed animal and see-thru plastic  stomach piggy change purse with dangling legs and round feet. I never use it, but I can’t seem to toss it either. I would probably get a dime for it and get into a bidding war with myself.

Le sigh. So many things, so many memories. ::spies thumb-sized hole punch with star cutouts:: Ya know, I will kick myself one day if I toss this away. ::moves hole punch to pile number one::

Everything was so cozy and mellow. Fireplace lit and crackling, delicious food, and us watching a movie. No cake and ice cream, but I imagine I damaged the diet plenty with pizza and beer. lol.  It was all good…I could almost fool myself and think things were the way they used to be.

But they aren’t. And I need to stop fooling myself. However, I can save up that memory and store it as a happy one. Sometimes that’s all we can do. Store up and save the good memories. I know there will come a day I will look back at last night with fondness…and without the touch of sadness.

Today is my birthday and we won’t say how old I am today, because it might worry the fire department when I light the candles. lol. Let’s just say this chickie ain’t getting any younger! lol.  In honor of my birthday, I am hosting a contest over at the Midnight Moon Cafe today, so stop by to help me celebrate and you may even win a prize. Last night I sat outside on the patio at the Midnight Moon Cafe place we have in SL, supposedly to read tarot for free (for promotion of course) and the only customer I got was Cora. (That’s her in the chair facing away with the long white tail hanging out—she was doin’ her Neko kitteh thing) lol. We traded readings and talked shop, so it was all good. My life has been topsy-turvy since New Year’s eve and I am unsure how things will work out, but the cards say they will work out—eventually, so I have to trust in that or go nuts.

I will also be doing free tarot readings in SL this Friday from 6-7pm SLT at Trilla’s Treasure Friends Mall in Tokara http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tokara/120/76/30. I am trying to get back into the writing zone after being in promo zone for the past several months. This is the worst case of writer’s block I think I’ve ever had. I am following the workshop Cora told me about over at Cobblestone Press, picking up a few pointers, honing my skills toolbox and hoping something good comes of it.

Finally some good news – I hope to get my vehicle back from the repair garage tomorrow or Friday, so I will have wheels again! Yay me! I have been worried I might pick up some of the weight I lost this last month, since I haven’t been at the gym since the auto died, but the scales were all smiles when I weighed this morning. A total of 18 lbs lost now since January 12th! Woot!

Can you tell my dreams are of a skinnier me? Well they are. I’m not trying for bone thin, but a nice size for a healthier and hopefully happier life. :)

Last Sunday, I raced at the new Sea Horse Race Track in Tokara, at Trilla’s and wow, I had a blast! I even won one of the heats, but these were race trials to prepare for the Oceania Derby coming up in two weeks. Woot!

I’m the pink haired mermaid in the middle of the picture, linging up at the starting gate waiting for the buzzer. :) My little white seahorse Nibbler was ready and rarin’ to go. :grins:

The picture above is of the stands where spectators can view the race. I had just run in a heat and was visiting with some of the mers who watched the race. I am in the foreground, (the mermaid pretty in pink–lol).

They also held small riding snail races, and two of my friends posed for this picture. Those were some fast snails, I tells ya. :)
